Import requirements
What a food import into the UAE involves.
Most of our competitors will tell you about their quality. Rather more useful is what your own clearance will ask of you, and where we fit into it.
- Food label registration
- Prepackaged food labels generally require approval from the relevant emirate food control authority — Dubai Municipality in Dubai, ADAFSA in Abu Dhabi — before retail sale. We supply the product data your label registration needs.
- Arabic labelling
- GCC labelling standards require Arabic on prepackaged foodstuffs, typically covering product name, ingredients, country of origin, production and expiry dates, net content, importer details, storage conditions and a batch code.
- Remaining shelf life
- The UAE enforces a minimum proportion of shelf life remaining on arrival for food imports. Confirm the rule that applies to your HS code before booking.
- Certificate of Origin
- Issued in Pakistan and attested as required. Prepared as part of the shipment document set.
- Health certificate
- Issued by the competent Pakistani authority for food exports and provided with the shipment.
- Shipping documents
- Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading, certificate of origin and health certificate, prepared before the container is sealed.
- Route
- Loaded at Karachi for discharge at your named UAE port. Transit time and freight are confirmed at quotation against live rates rather than published here.
