Supplying the United States
The United States is the largest destination for Pakistani salt by export value. We load at Karachi for your named US port and prepare the document set your customs broker files.
US entry for food salt runs through the FDA as well as CBP, and the obligations sit largely with the importer rather than the exporter. What we control is the accuracy and completeness of what we send you: specification, origin documentation, and a packing list that matches the container.
We are the exporter of record in Pakistan. We are not your FSVP importer, your US agent or your customs broker — those are roles you appoint in the United States, and any supplier who tells you otherwise is describing something they cannot do.
Import requirements
What an import into United States involves.
Most suppliers will tell you about their quality. Rather more useful is what your own clearance will ask of you, and where we fit into it.
- Prior notice
- FDA requires advance notice of imported food shipments before arrival, filed by the importer or their agent. The window depends on the mode of transport. We supply the product and shipment detail the filing needs.
- FSVP
- Under the Foreign Supplier Verification Programs rule, the US importer verifies that their foreign supplier produces food consistent with FDA requirements. We provide supplier documentation, specification and test results to support your verification file.
- Facility registration
- FDA expects the foreign facility producing the food to be registered and to have designated a US agent. Confirm the registration status of the producing facility with us before you order.
- Labelling
- Retail packs must meet FDA food labelling rules, including product name, net quantity and declarations. For bulk shipments intended for repacking, labelling is your side of the line; we pack to your specification.
- Documentation
- Commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin, prepared before the container is sealed. Additional certificates are prepared on request against your broker’s list.
- Route
- Loaded at Karachi for discharge at your named US port. Transit time and freight are confirmed at quotation against live rates rather than published here.
